Since 1988, SCILET’s major publication has been its annual poetry journal, Kavya Bharati. KB, as it is affectionately known, includes the work of both established poets and gifted younger writers who are publishing for the first time. In this way some of India’s best English medium poets have enriched the editions of KB, while a number of new talents have also been discovered.
Kavya Bharati. occasionally publishes special issues, such as its year 2000 volume devoted entirely to the poetry of Indian Women, or its more recent pair of issues featuring “Poetry of the Indian Diaspora.” Kavya Bharati is available by annual subscription. Copies of Kavya Bharati go regularly to several hundred readers in India, as well as interested persons in more than a dozen countries overseas.
In order to stimulate poetry writing among younger people, SCILET also publishes Kavithalaya, a journal of poetry written entirely by students. This writing has normally come out of the Workshops that SCILET has co-sponsored, and many issues of Kavithalaya contain student created artwork that illustrates the various poems included in this journal.
SCILET also publishes an occasional News Letter, which is sent without charge to those who have shown a special interest in the study centre. Eventually an online News Letter will be published which will be posted in this site and sent to interested individuals by email.
